Elize Morkel – Somerset West

The Narrative Therapy consultation groups have been meeting monthly for supervision and training with Elize Morkel since 2002.  These groups provide on-going contact with the ideas and practices of a Narrative Therapy informed approach and an opportunity to network with colleagues who follow this approach. It is a very good follow-up on the Narrative Intensive workshop. This year (2026) we have two groups consisting of 9 members each that meet on a Wednesday morning and Thursday morning respectively. Meetings take place in Erinvale Golf Estate Somerset West where Elize lives. Both groups meet once a month from 09h00-11h00. 

The reading for 2026 is the brand-new Narrative Therapy Third Edition (2026) by Stephen Madigan. https://www.apa.org/pubs/books/narrative-therapy-third-edition. We are excited to revisit the history, philosophy and theory on which Narrative Therapy rests. The new edition has very interesting case examples of new developments in various areas of interest. Group members prepare the reading as scheduled for discussion every month. The group members also take turns to bring examples of their therapeutic work for consultation or to illustrate application of the narrative ideas that we share.   

Meetings: 9 times per year for 2 hours

Fees: R 4 500 (for the year) Participants are expected to commit and pay for the year even if they are unable to attend all the meetings.  The fee includes a paperback copy of Narrative Therapy Third Edition by Stephen Madigan.
